| Background: |
 Cathy's career has encompassed many facets of the music profession, including: private teaching of singing, piano and musicianship; music education, teaching classroom music from K - Year 12; presentations at conferences and workshops, both nationally and internationally; HSC coaching for Music 1, Music 2 and Extension Courses; HSC marking; performance as a vocal soloist, conductor and accompanist; heavy involvement in the Orff Schulwerk Association of NSW and more recently, ANATS; founder and director of Sydney Singers, an adult chamber choir specialising in contemporary Australian choral repertoire, of which Richard Gill OAM is patron. |
| Qualifications: |
Cathy graduated with a double major in Singing and Piano from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 1979 with a Diploma of Music Education studying piano with Isador Goodman and singing with Stuart Harvey and Helen McKinnon. She has since gone on to study singing with Myra Lambert, Jean Callaghan and more recently, Amanda Thane. Cathy graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1993 with a Master of Music, majoring in Musicology. She has attained her Associate & Licentiate in Singing from the Trinity College of London and is currently studying for her PhD at the University of Western Sydney, doing practice-based research into Australian Art Song of the 20th and 21st centuries. |
